Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff, I am writing to provide an important update regarding the earlier safety situation near our high school campus. Local law enforcement agencies have completed their sweep of the area, and the high school has been cleared. Based on guidance from authorities, we have resumed normal school operations and schedules. While the situation occurred off campus and there were no injuries reported, we will continue to maintain precautionary safety measures throughout the day out of an abundance of caution. Our administrative team will remain in close communication with local law enforcement and will monitor the situation closely. Please know: -All students and staff remain safe and accounted for. -The campus has been officially cleared by law enforcement. -Instruction has resumed on a normal schedule. -Additional safety precautions will remain in place. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and support as we worked to ensure the safety of everyone in our school community. Dear Watson Chapel School District Community, Out of an abundance of caution and with the safety of our scholars, staff, and families as our highest priority, all Watson Chapel School District schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 30, 2026. While primary roadways have shown improvement, many secondary roads throughout our district remain severely impacted by ice, particularly those used for student bus routes. All extracurricular activities scheduled for the remainder of the week will be rescheduled for a later date. Dear Watson Chapel Families,

Out of an abundance of caution and in response to potential inclement weather forecasted to arrive during the evening hours, Watson Chapel School District will implement an early dismissal schedule on Friday, January 23, 2026.

Please review the adjusted dismissal times below:

Coleman & Edgewood Elementary Schools: 2:00 p.m.

Watson Chapel Junior High School (WCJHS): 2:50 p.m.

Watson Chapel High School (WCHS): 3:00 p.m.

This proactive decision is being made to ensure the safety of our students and staff while allowing sufficient time for transportation before weather conditions potentially worsen. District buses will operate on their regular routes at the adjusted dismissal times.

All after-school activities and programs are canceled. Campus administrators will communicate details regarding rescheduled activities at a later time.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our scholars. Please continue to monitor district communications for updates.

Sincerely,

Watson Chapel School District Administration
